Noel & Holly

Howdy Paper Crafters!

I know it's Halloween but I have a Christmas card for you today.  This is one given to us FSJ coaches as a challenge. We were given a square card layout which is below. I also did the same card in a 1/4 sheet card for my card class coming up.

I used Kiwi Slice cardstock for my card base and the large circle. The next layer is from the Christmas Cheer Prints paper pack in the Holiday Mini Catalog. There are so many pretty papers in that pack. Next is the Candy Apple Sparkle Ribbon placed near the the bottom of the card. I used the matching piercing element when using the next to the largest Circle Die. The smaller circle is cut from Cranberry Bliss cardstock. The holly image is from the Holiday Sparkle stamp set and was stamped with Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink then die cut with the matching die. To color the image I used Limeade, Fresh Forest, and Candy Apple Liquid Colors. Using the Black Licorice Ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Holiday Sparkle stamp set as well. All the elements of the card were glued down flat except the holly. I popped that up on Journey Foam Squares and glued pieces of Kiwi Slice cardstock cut from the Bloom Cluster die. I added Journey Glaze to the image and the sentiment and once dry, I added a little Sparkle Silk. Below is the same card in the 1/4 sheet size.

I really like the way this turned out and hope you all do too. All the supplies can be found at my online store. Feel free to leave a comment, I would love to hear from you.

Sparkle & Shine!

Howdy Paper Crafters!

I know it's almost Halloween but I am in the Christmas mood with my Holiday Card Class coming up so I thought I would share some cards over the next few days that we will be making. Today it is this beautiful retro card with pink, white, and silver.

This card really was fun to make. I used Bubble Gum card stock for my base. Then I used the Bubbles Embossing Folder on a strip of Whip Cream card stock and added a strip of the Silver Scallop Washi Tape. Next I stamped the sentiment on Whip Cream cardstock with Clear Embossing Ink and used Silver Embossing Powder. Once the powder was heated, it added just the right amount of shine to my card. I cut a flag in the card stock then popped it up with Journey Foam Squares on a small piece of Black Licorice card stock which I cut to match and attached to the upper right side of my card. The snowflakes were die-cut from Silver Mirror card stock. I just love that stuff.  I popped the snowflakes up with Journey Foam Squares on top of some Black Licorice Twine onto the left side of my card. Lastly I sprinkled some Journey Sparkle Silk all over the front of the card for just the right amount of sparkle. To finish it off, I added some Fashion Silver. Don't you just love it?

You can find all the products I used on this card at Fun Stampers Journey at my online store.

Be sure to stop back soon to see the rest of the cards we did in class. Better yet, sign up to follow me by email and never miss a post. In the meantime....

Have a Wonderful Day

Howdy Paper Crafters. Just a short post tonight. I have had a busy week. My card today is a layout I found on the FSJ blog. Of course I made it my own. Take a peek.

I used Black Licorice cardstock, Whip Cream cardstock, and Citrus Cooler cardstock. I used Wonderful Day stamp set stamped in Black Licorice True Fusion Ink. The sentiment was stamped in Whip Cream True Fusion Ink and I added small dots around the sentiment piece with a white gel pen. I added a lace border from the Border Details die set. The flower was colored in with my colored pencils and blended with my blending pencil. I sprayed the whole card front with Journey Gold Splash and added Gingham Black Licorice ribbon tied in a simple knot to finish it off. Now it's your turn. Pick a page, make a card & let me know how you did. Mix it up and use a different stamp set or color scheme.

That's it for today. If you are interested in any of the products above just visit my online store or shoot me an email. I would be happy to help.

Do Ya Wanna Build a Smowman?

Hello Paper Crafters!

I had another sketch challenge with my fellow coaches over at Fun Stampers Journey.
Isn't he cute? I used Flower Swirls set to make the body of the snowman which is stamped on Whip Cream cardstock in River Stone True Fusion Ink. I tore a couple of strips of Whip Cream cardstock for the snow as well. I layered this on Denim Days cardstock then backed it with Whip Cream cardstock. I used a piece of red glitter washi tape from our Holiday Washi Tape set to make the scarf (cut in half). His hat was made from scraps of Black Licorice cardstock and one more small strip of washi tape for the ribbon on his hat. I used a portion of the branches in the stamp set Always S'more for the snowman arms. The striped washi tape was applied to a piece of Whip Cream cardstock to whiten up the white as the blue cardstock base showed through the washi tape for a embellishment and a small piece of Candy Apple Sparkle Ribbon as well. Then I stamped a sentiment from Holiday Script stamp set (Joy) and punched out with a circle punch. The top 2 layers of the snowman and his hat along with the sentiment were popped up with Journey Medium Foam Squares to add dimension. Lastly I sprinkled Sparkle Silk on the whole card then brushed the silk on the snowman and the snow for a little extra shimmer.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. I will be posting Christmas cards for my class on November 4th throughout the week if you would like to stop back. Don't forget to follow me and leave a comment below.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today!

Catalog Case Challenge

Howdy Paper Crafters!

I belong to a group of coaches at Fun Stampers Journey and we were recently given a challenge. This is one you can do as well.

We were asked to pick any card from our current catalog and case it. That means make a copy cat card. We were also asked to use a different stamp set and use different colors. Here's what I came up with.

I just loved the simplicity of this layout with all the colors of Fall. After inking up my stamps with the color I wanted for each leaf I took our Dark Roast ink pad and just inked up the edges of each stamp. Isn't it a cool technique?  I also used the corner of the Pomegranate Splash ink pad to ink the first letter of each word in the sentiment after inking it with the main color. I really do like the way this one turned out.

Now it's your turn. Look through the catalog and find a simple layout you like and copy it. Our catalog has a ton of samples for inspiration. I would love to see what you create. Leave a comment and a link so I can check it out.

Happy stamping!

Halloween Card Class

Howdy Paper Crafters!

We had a great time making cards at my Halloween card class. Here are some of the projects we made.

This project is a little treat bag. The paper was perfect for this. I used the Party Ghost set in the Journey Holidays mini catalog. Aren't they just adorable?

Next up is our Lil' Monster ATS. He is so cute.

I used our Splat embossing folder and the new Bubble Wrap embossing folder. I also used a die-cut for the Boo sentiment. I colored our Lil' Monster with our Liquid Colors and added Rainbow drops to accentuate his dots. Of course, I just had to add the black twine.

The next card we did was inspired by fellow coach Jeanne Bobish. She is a very talented lady.

The paper is from the same paper pack as the treat bag above and can be found in the Journey Holidays mini catalog along with the sentiment here which is a bloom benefit (that means it was free with a qualifying order!) The bat die-cut is from the same die set at the boo sentiment above. I sponged the edges of everything the splashed a little silver silk over the whole card. Then added the green twine. This was my favorite card of the night.

That's it for today. Hope you are inspired to go out and make some of your own Halloween cards and if  you need any supplies you can check out my online store for everything you need.

I love to hear from you all so please leave comments and let me know what you think or if you have any questions.

Happy Stamping!

Fall is in the air!

Howdy Paper Crafters!

Fall is definitley in the air! I have made a few cards I will be sharing with you over the next few days. I hope you enjoy them!

First up we had a Gel Press play date recently and it was a blast! Check out the pics below.

The print made.

See all those yummy papers we created? If you don't have a Gel Press you have got to get one! They are so much fun!  Dena made a beautiful card with her background.

The end result.

I love how the background on her card holds it's own with the  sentiment as the main focus. It's hard to see here but, in person you can see just a hint of Gold Splash shimmering. Love it! Interesting fold as well. Great job Dena!

Well I hope this inspires you to get your Gel Press out and play. It's so much fun! And if you fell in love with the sentiment on Dena's card, many of us did, you can find it in the Journey Holidays mini catalog. Just click on the icon in my right sidebar and it will take you straight to it.

Thanks for stopping by today. Stop again soon!
